Position Descriptions
ACCs serve adults with behavioral health diagnoses. The ACC assists clients in locating and accessing resources.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and MHRT/Cp Provisional or MHRT/C.
The PSS provides assistance in activities of daily living (ADLs) to individuals so that they can remain in their own homes.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Training:
PSS certification within 6 months of hire.
CCC Staff (Children’s Care Coordinators) serve children with behavioral health, chronic medical conditions, and/or developmental disabilities. The CCC assists families in locating and accessing resources, and advocates on their behalf in school systems/other systems of care.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field; OR Bachelor’s Degree in unrelated field and at least one (1) year relevant human services experience; OR Master’s Degree in social work, education, psychology, counseling, nursing, or related field.
DLSS (Daily Living Support Specialists) and SKILLS Specialists provide in-home & community-based services to those needing assistance with daily living skills such as healthy meal planning, budgeting, self care, coping skills through modeling, cueing and coaching. DLSS assist & support clients around their daily goals to help them remain independent and safe in their homes and communities.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Training:
MHRT/1P or MHRT/1 certification.
DSPs (Direct Support Specialists) provide in-home, center-based community supports for adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Training:
CPR/First Aid, DSP certification within 4 months of hire
The FSS works with the Behavioral Health Home team to ensure that well-coordinated and integrated care is delivered to families in the form of guidance and support. Each FSS must be willing to share experiences with families, co-workers, & community providers.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Three or more years of lived experience in parenting or in a parenting role. Ability to articulate lived experiences. Three or more years of lived experience navigating child-serving systems of care. Training: Parent/Family Peer Certification or Provisional Certification, CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, department-approved HFW/PEARLS PPSP training.
The CIPSS (Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist) works with our behavioral home health team to ensure that well-coordinated and integrated care is delivered to the youth and families served. CIPSS provides leadership and technical assistance in developing and implementing BHHO peer support services.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, Peer 101 certification upon hire. CIPSS Provisional certification within 6 months from hire. CIPSS Certification within 1 year of hire. Self-identified mental health consumer who has personally experienced a severe and persistent mental illness. Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
YSS (Youth Support Specialists) – (Ages 18-26) – provide support to youth and young adults (ages 14 – 26) struggling with serious emotional disturbances and/or serious mental illness, including those with substance use issues. A willingness to share lived experiences in a way that fosters a supportive and healthy peer relationship is required. Flexible Hours.
Position Requirements:
- Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maine Peer Connect Youth Peer Support Certification within 9 months of hire.
- Must have lived experience in mental health-related challenges and be willing to articulate and share this information with others in a therapeutic way.
